While it might seem that there are other couples I am quite fond of, Atem and Anzu's relationship will probably stay with me the longest. Ancient Egypt has been something I have always been a fan of for as long as I can remember. Since the series is mainly about an ancient ruler, it will be hard for me to forget or even move on from this series or even this pairing.

The name is a bit of a twist. "In the Distance" can refer about two things: Anzu's feelings for Atem and how she never receives them back or how both feel about each other, but rather keep the distance to avoid pain. Either way, I felt by who he was, an ancient pharaoh, and by she, a young modern girl, the distance between them would always prevent anything from happen. However, that doesn't mean that somewhere in the distance, true love can bloom.

I was extremely lucky when I ran across the image for the second layout. Linkyiwakura draws such amazing work, and I was having a hard time finding an image that I wanted for this site. Luck fell on my side when I decided to ask and she said yes. The image has so much emotion, so much pain, so much tenderness. The site was created using Adobe Photoshop 2021 and coded by hand in Notepad. It is currently coded using CSS Grid with some php scripts for the gallery to work.
